[Talk] Artist Call Out

APPLICATIONS DUE: Midnight 1 April 2013

Crack Theatre Festival is seeking applications from artists to present at this years festival!

We are looking for work that ranges from finished performances to work that is still in development, from installations to large-scale happenings. Crossing theatre, music, physical theatre, the visual arts and any combination of artistic practices, Crack offers a diverse programme across a range of disciplines. If it speaks to now, if you are passionate about it, if you’d like to try something new out in a safe space, if you’d like to tour an existing work, if it gives a voice to something suppressed, if it’s unique and exciting- we’d like to hear from you.

In the spirit of renewal and regeneration, Crack occupies abandoned spaces. We’d like to see work that has an interest in activating these once private spaces and making them public, engaging with audiences and the wider artistic community in the spirit of sharing and communicating in free spaces.

Combined with a panel and masterclass series, Crack is a place to connect with other artists from around Australia, discuss things that are important and learn new skills from industry professionals and your peers.

Crack works on a volunteer basis and in doing so, has no means to pay artists or cover travel or accommodation costs. It can however, offer:

-No costs charged by Crack for inclusion in the festival

-free admission to audience for your piece in the spirit of the festival

-letters of support for any funding applications.

-the chance to increase your profile nationally and build on your creative networks

-media exposure in relation to the festival

-inclusion in print and digital material in relation to the festival

-discounts at selected local businesses

-a space to showcase your work
