Belinda Locke & Finn Obranagain
Nick is a hybrid performance and media maker. He graduated from UNSW with a BA Media, Theatre & Performance (Hons 1st Class) where he received the Cate Blanchett award forCyborgs are born, not made. He trained with the imPACT ensemble 09 performing in Public Bunnies in C# Minor (dir. Michal Imielski). He has recently returned from a three month working tour through Europe where was artist in residence at the CAMAC Art Centre, Marnay Sur-Seine, France and completed the Pentales Hemmingway Writers Fellowship, Berlin. www.nicktimatkins.com
Jennifer Medway, Co-Artistic Director 2013
Jennifer is a dramaturg, performance maker and producer working across traditional and contemporary forms. Currently the Associate Artist-Dramaturgy at Belvoir, Jennifer has developed work for Belvoir, Brisbane Festival, TRS, Playwriting Australia, Merrigong Independent Artists Programe, Shopfront and Underbelly Arts Festival. She likes working with and developing young and emerging artists and loves a free theatre festival.
Belinda Locke, Associate Producer 2013
Belinda Locke is a theatre maker and arts worker based in Brisbane. She graduated with a Bachelor of Creative Industries in Drama from the Queensland University of Technology in 2009. In 2010 she incorporated the company FAST Festival of Australian Student Theatre with Benjamin Schostakowski; a national student theatre festival presented by the organisation annually at La Boite’s Roundhouse Theatre. Belinda was the General Manager and Artistic Associate of FAST until early 2012, when she also left her position as Business Development Coordinator of Brisbane Festival to commence postgraduate study.
Belinda is currently a PhD Candidate at QUT. Through her practice-based research Belinda is creating new performance work exploring how theories of magical realism may inform the creation of narrative structures in visual theatre. In 2013 she will be presenting her creative work at Tuxedo Cat as part of Adelaide Fringe Festival, and at the Judith Wright Centre of Contemporary Arts.
Finn Obranagain, Associate Producer 2013
Finn is an emerging writer, dramaturg, and theatre maker. She recently graduated from NIDA’s Graduate Diploma of Dramatic Arts (Playwriting), and is currently working on shows with Expressions Dance Company, Backbone Youth Arts and Painted Tree.
In 2011 she completed an Australia Council JUMP Mentorship with Lachlan Philpott, which saw readings of her work in Darwin at Tease Festival, the State Library of Queensland and at ATYP as part of the Sydney Fringe Festival. She also was part of the Australia Council Cultural Leadership Program, a Darwin Theatre Company Independent Artist, Backbone Youth Arts Ensemble Member, which produced two shows, an Express Media National Young Writers Month Ambassador, and had work published under ATYP. She has had work tour nationally with JUTE Theatre Company, and produced many shows with Corrugated Iron Youth Arts.
